Pakistan Unveils Fresh Strategy in Response to India

ISLAMABAD:
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday announced that Pakistan has established a “new normal”—a “quid‑pro‑quo‑plus” response—should India pursue what he described as its dangerous notion of a limited war below the nuclear threshold. Dar urged New Delhi to reconsider its perceived “hubristic and misguided” strategies, warning that further aggression would provoke a decisive counter.
Speaking at the 52nd anniversary of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan’s role as a “middle power” and a key member of the Global South, actively advancing global peace, security, and sustainable development.
Dar highlighted that Pakistan’s foreign policy is strategically shifting toward geo‑economics—prioritizing trade, investment, remittances, technology, and regional cooperation—to enhance economic growth while maintaining international peace and security
He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to using diplomacy and economic engagement—not just geopolitics—to achieve strategic objectives, underlining that Pakistan remains focused on collective development and stability on the world stage .
